Maggie McConnell, LCSWR

Maggie McConnell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her MSW from Adelphi University.

Maggie is a staff therapist at LIIST with multiple areas of expertise. She has dedicated her career as a therapist to especially helping marginalized and vulnerable individuals.

At LIIST, she sees gender and sexual orientation diverse (LGBTQ+) adolescents, young adults, and families. Maggie also supports couples of all types with improving positive and proactive communication skills. She helps individuals and couples navigate sexual functioning and arousal issues.

A focus dear to her is working with issues surrounding disabilities, chronic illnesses, and relationship concerns. Maggie has extensive experience helping clients work through past or recent trauma.

Her clinical work is psychodynamic in nature, but her style encompasses a more eclectic approach. Above all else, she knows it is very important for you to find a comfortable, accepting, affirming, and nurturing environment in her office, where you can feel free to explore difficult issues.

Maggie is a member in good standing of NASW and the Academy of Trauma Specialists. She is recognized as a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. She has achieved Levels 1 and 2 of the Gottman Couples Therapy Method. She is listed as a sexuality-informed therapist for Parent to Parent of NYS.
